Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐

Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao.  I don’t really need to say any more.  This is one of the best dishes on the planet.  Not only is it among the best Xiao Long Bao that you’ll ever have in your life, but it really tastes like fresh truffle.  Don’t worry – everything else on the menu is good, too.  This is from the Portman branch in Shanghai, but they’re very consistent from location to location.

Wine recommendation: Champagne, the older, the better.  For the taste of mature champagne, try Veuve Clicquot Rare Vintage 1988 which will echo the truffle note and pairs well with the other dishes on the menu.
